Here&#8217;s How You Can Minimize Pain Until You Get Back to Your Level"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong><em>We\u2019ve all been there &#8211; skipping a few days has turned into a few weeks, maybe even months.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">But, who can blame you, especially with all that\u2019s going on outside?<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Anyway, the bottom line is &#8211; <strong>you\u2019re out of shape and now you want to get back to rowing<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">And as we all know, it is hard to get back into the game after the break. We\u2019re out of habit, it takes time to get back in the shape we were in, and more than anything &#8211; it\u2019s painful.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Since getting back in shape (or doing it for the first time) is one the best decisions you can make, let\u2019s see what exactly you can do to <strong>minimize the initial pain and exhaustion<\/strong>.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\"><b>Start Slow<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">I want it all, and I want it now, right?\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Well, even though we all want that, life teaches us that this is pretty much impossible. What you should do actually is start low and go slow.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Start with a pace that you\u2019re comfortable with and then take it from there. Experts recommend a general progression of no more than 10 percent on a week-to-week basis. But on day 9? Day 17? Yep, somewhere down the line it will get hard to maintain the motivation, and to effectively do that &#8211; make sure you set the goals right away.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Also make sure you\u2019re realistic &#8211; chances are you won\u2019t be doing a Cambridge half-marathon anytime soon. You can also use one of our <strong>Cardio Goals<\/strong> programs such as <strong>Fat burn<\/strong>, <strong>HIIT<\/strong> or <strong>Interval training<\/strong> and slowly increase your difficulty level and workout time within.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We\u2019ve also come up with a weekly workout plan, specifically tailored for people like you that haven&#8217;t rowed in a while:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Week 1\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">For your warm-up, try Explore mode in Tropical for 15 minutes. Explore mode is perfect for warming up, whichever HOLOWORLD you pick. Start with the 500m race. Don\u2019t try to win, but aim to be among the first 7. On your second workout of the first week, aim to be in the first 4.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Week 2<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Move on to the 1000m race. Try to finish among the first 5. For your second workout, increase the pressure. Try to finish among the first 3.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Week 3<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Win the 1000m race! For your second workout, do the 2000m. Don\u2019t pay much attention to your position, just finish it.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Week 4<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Do the 2000m race and get through the finish line as number 7. Then, finish the month with a 500m race. However, you should be really careful and pay attention to what your body is saying &#8211; feeling too much pain too often is surely not a good sign.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Find the proper balance and also don\u2019t be afraid to ask others for advice. That\u2019s where a workout buddy or a whole <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/groups\/holofit.vr.fitness\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">community<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> of them helps a lot.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\"><b>Be an Early Bird<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Maybe this generally doesn\u2019t work for you, but you should at least give it a shot and try doing your workouts in the morning.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Besides having fewer distractions, you\u2019ll have more endurance and strength during that time, and you\u2019ll feel energized and ready for the day once you\u2019re done.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">And yeah, it\u2019s a great habit!<\/span><\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\"><b>Use Distractions<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Now, this doesn\u2019t sound like a &#8211; sound advice, right? Well, let\u2019s see.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">See, once you\u2019re back on your rower after a while, the biggest issues you face are motivation, pain and quick exhaustion. And sometimes, the best way to solve those issues is to actually use distraction.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Well, that\u2019s where Virtual Reality jumps in\u2026\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">What it does is really simple &#8211; <\/span><b>i<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">t <\/span><b>allows you to work out longer<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.
