Darkness began spreading across the HOLOuniverse when Lord Draven, an ancient vampire lord who had been sleeping and minding his evil business for centuries, awoke.

With him came the creatures of the night, and a shadow loomed over our beloved HOLOworlds. Vampire hunter Leta Huntera set out to stop him, gathering weapons and ancient artifacts. But before she had a chance to strike, she was seized and carried away by two mean-looking gargoyles. (While you were busy working out…)

And then, silence.

No one knows where they took her. No one knows what became of her. But as the days passed, whispers of an ancient evil grew. Something was stirring, and there was only one place in the whole HOLOuniverse left to search.

Castle Draven.

Don’t step off the road

Welcome to chapter one of Castle Draven, HOLOworld #20!

The road begins beneath a cold, relentless rain and is paved with sinister intentions.

Follow it to reach what remains of a once bustling settlement. The few villagers who remain keep close to their lanterns. They speak in hushed voices, gather in nervous groups, and retreat to the old church, one of the last buildings that still offers a semblance of safety. Fear has settled over the village, and no one dares wander far after dark.

A familiar face watches over from a notice board. Leta Huntera’s portrait. Her disappearance has not been forgotten, and neither has the fear of what took her.

""

Venture into the Night

No one dares venture further, but you! Our brave Holofitter.

Beware, you might encounter:

Something stalking you between the trees and growling at you. Bones rattling where no living soul should be. Strange laughter echoing through the ruins. Skeletons moving with a life of their own, ghosts drifting through the mist, and pale wisps of light floating between the trees…

Deep within the forest stands an ancient, sacred tree, and beyond it the road finally reveals its destination. And you have come too far to turn back now.

An Invitation

As you come out of the woods, the road opens onto a magnificent sight: Count Draven’s castle.

There is something almost enchanting about it. A castle fit for a king, perhaps. Or a monster.

They say a vampire cannot enter a home without being invited in. But what are the customs when you approach the home of a vampire?

The Count knows you are here now. He has seen you coming, and he has made no effort to hide his castle from you. In fact, he has made quite a show of it. Was his little performance a welcome to his domain? Or a warning to abandon your search for Leta Huntera before it is too late?

We’ll have to wait until Chapter 2 of Castle Draven arrives in HOLOFIT to find out.

Until then, stay vigilant. Keep your eyes on the shadows lurking in the corners, and your ears open for suspicious growls and screeches. After all, you never know what might be watching you from the darkness.
