Today, we’re rolling out an improvement to Performance Mode.

You can now use Performance Mode inside Daily and Monthly Challenges, with a refreshed Challenges UI designed to make competition clearer, fairer, and more motivating.

This update is a key part of what’s coming in February’s Monthly Challenge. But since that’s still a little over a week away, we’re warming things up first.

What’s new in Performance Mode

Performance Mode is now part of Challenges

In Performance-based challenges, you’ll be trying to beat a distance record set by another community member close to your level.

  • Beat the record → you complete the task
  • Don’t have a record for that time yet?
Your task becomes setting your own distance record first

Progress that matches your current fitness

If your existing records were set when you were fitter than you are right now, you can reset them:

  • Go to Train → Performance Mode
  • Reset your records
  • Set new baselines that better match where you are today

This makes progress easier to track and challenges more achievable, without pressure.

Warm-up before February

Before the February Monthly Challenge begins, we’ll be running two Performance-based Daily Challenges on January 26 and January 28.

To make sure you don’t miss them, we’ve created two Meta Events you can join as reminders:

Meta Event: Daily Challenge

January 26

Meta Event: Daily Challenge

January 30

Think of these as a low-pressure warm-up: try the new format, set baselines, and get comfortable before February kicks off.
